Working collaboratively with ORE Catapult, CWind is committed to delivering innovative solutions to address our clients’ needs and industry challenges – for today and for the future. We are dedicated to new product development, including subsea survey solutions, through an invested partnership with Rovco. CWind’s joint venture with International Ocean Vessel Technical Consultant (IOVTEC), CWind Taiwan, provides offshore wind farm construction and O&M support services, and training to the Taiwanese offshore wind industry.
MEET THE CWIND TEAM
In his role as Managing Director, Nathanael brings extensive commercial, operational and customer relations experience to CWind. Formerly working within the sector at Prysmian and at Industrial Marine Hydraulics, Nathanael has built a reputable track record working globally and has a passion for bringing new disruptive technologies to market.
Nathanael was educated at Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London, graduating in Physics and going on to obtain a Masters in Mechanical Engineering.
Joshua is the Director of Operations for CWind, responsible for ensuring that all offshore activities are conducted safely and exceed our clients’ expectations. Joshua oversees Operations, Projects, CTV Fleet and Turbine technicians, supported by his team. He joined CWind in 2012, where he started out as a generator technician, after which he was quickly promoted to offshore supervisor and then undertook other varied roles. Acknowledging his expertise with engines and vessels, CWind picked him out to help set up the Fleet Department as the Vessel Support Manager, maintaining and ensuring reliability of CWind’s fleet. It was during this period that Joshua increased the on-charter time to 99%. Prior to joining CWind, Joshua was a marine engineer working for clients such as Port of London Health Authority, City Airport Fire Service and HM Coastguard.
In his role as Director of Sales for CWind, Kevin leads a team of Sales Managers, as well as CWind’s dedicated Bids & Tenders Team. Kevin has been working in the offshore wind sector for almost 20 years, and before that, he spent 14 years in the offshore cable industry – 10 of those as a Cable Engineer. Kevin has vast experience working in sales and business development roles within offshore wind across Asia and Europe. As you would expect, he has a strong network of connections. Before joining CWind, Kevin spent over a year living and working in Taiwan, where he established an Asian consultancy team. He then came back to the UK to run a leading global companies European and Asian renewables advisory team. It has been said that Kevin has a passion for “joining up the dots”. He prides himself on connecting people, encouraging ideas and innovative thinking, guiding and mentoring his team and supporting clients to achieve project excellence. Kevin is always open to discuss your project and offer his support and unbiased advice.
Lawrence sits in the role of Head of Projects, where he is responsible for implementation of controls throughout the team in order that CWind maintain efficient and focused delivery.
He joined CWind in August 2019. Prior to this he managed projects across multiple industries including oil & gas, construction and rail. Most recently he was responsible for the successful delivery of a suite of multi-million-pound CapEX projects for a global steel manufacturer.
Lawrence has a solid engineering background, with experience of all levels of projects. Focused on progression, Lawrence started his career as a time served fabricator before progressing into engineering design, design management and ultimately into project management. In 2009 he gained a BSc (Hons) in Construction Management at Sheffield Hallam University and has since applied both the academic and practical experience in each of his subsequent roles, benefiting from a wide ranging exposure of the technical, contractual and stakeholder challenges present in all projects.
Stafford sits in the role of Head of Operational Efficiency, where he is responsible for identifying areas for improvement across the business at admin, operational, project delivery and strategic levels. He works closely with all operational areas including project delivery, CTV Fleet and CWind Training, to build, adopt and foster best practise within the relevant function. He is also the lead within CWind for driving the Global Marine Group-wide initiatives into the business unit.
Stafford joined CWind in June 2011, where he started out as a technician, after which he was quickly promoted to Operations Manager, delivering many successful projects in generator management, offshore cable installation and top side inspections. In 2014 he joined the vessels department where he undertook varied roles, working his way up to Head of Fleet for over two years, driving performance and efficiency to a higher operational standard.
Lea heads up the CWind Fleet department and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the CWind Fleet. He joined Cwind in July 2018 and has nearly 10 years’ experience working in various maritime roles within the offshore wind industry.
A qualified master and lead auditor, Lea has extensive knowledge of the CTV industry having worked on various projects spanning across Europe. Lea has also been instrumental in CWind obtaining an ISM document of compliance and for implementing the necessary measures for the addition of High-Speed Offshore Service Craft vessels into the fleet.
Heading up CWind Training, Tom joined the training centre in 2013 with a commitment to continuing his focus on high-quality training solutions for the wind industry. Tom has been heavily involved in training, development and consultancy for the wind industry since 2010 and has a wealth of experience on a huge variety of turbines both on and offshore. With over 16 years’ experience working in technical training for a vast number of industries, ranging from mountaineering to the emergency services and government organisations, Tom has a proven track record in making significant improvements to the way practical safety courses are designed and delivered.
Sandra oversees Commercial Finance at CWind, ensuring that our project teams operate with a commercial approach that’s aligned with our corporate financial guidelines. A member of the CWind team since February 2018, Sandra brings over 10 years’ experience in commercial finance to the table, having previously worked for leading creative and communications agencies WPP, Publicis and Chaucer Consulting. As well as overseeing day-to-day project accounting, forecasting and budgeting, Sandra also assists with CWind bids and SOX compliance.
Janette has extensive experience gained in some of the world’s largest Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Power Generation companies, including GE, Fluor, Shell UK and ConocoPhillips amongst others. In these roles Janette both led and supported project teams through the full project lifecycle of design, construction, commissioning and operations into final decommissioning and demolition.
She is a strong advocate for open communication and transparency in action within the workplace; the primary objective is to exceed expectations for safety in the workplace whilst still achieving overall managerial and business targets.
Janette has a full complement of business & HSE qualifications spanning NEBOSH, Law and Teaching before she went on to obtain a Masters in Safety & Risk Management.
In her role as Marketing Executive, Jaye is responsible for the marketing of both CWind and Global Offshore. Graduating with a degree in Journalism Studies from the University of Sheffield in 2015, she went on to hold a number of permanent and freelance marketing and communications roles within the private, public and third sector.
With a strong interest in renewable energy and a passion for digital marketing and innovative technologies, Jaye works closely with our Sales and Engineering teams to maximise awareness of our industry-leading offering and share our vision of a greener, cleaner future.
Tom Manning is Deputy General Manager of CWind Taiwan. Based in Taipei, he oversees operations and business development for both our Taiwanese offshore wind projects and TIWTC, Taiwan’s first GWO-approved offshore training school. Prior to Joining CWind Taiwan, Tom was Commercial Director for SBSS, China’s leading subsea cable installation company. Tom has been part of the Global Marine Group team for over 10 years and has a degree from The University of Sheffield.
Joel leads CWind’s North American business operations from our US office in Boston, Massachusetts. As an Executive Vice President, Joel brings over 15 years of offshore wind industry knowledge to the table, which has been key to establishing our presence in the developing US offshore market. Joel has worked across a range of different industries during his career, including renewable energy, software, retail, chemical manufacturing, subsea robotics, and telecommunications. Having demonstrated his expertise developing and launching new products and services around the world, his commercial experience further strengthens CWind’s global reach. Joel is a resident of Massachusetts and serves as a board member for The Business Network for Offshore Wind and the US Offshore Wind Collaborative.
